400 N. Queen St. in The Gallery
I had a dear artist friend, John, who had Parkinson's and a bit of dementia toward the end of his life. John was my mentor and teacher and helped show me what art could actually be. I would sit with John and talk or draw or collaborate on drawings. The last couple years of his life we had amazing conversations about life, art and everything in between. When we would draw, the eye shape made many appearances. Meditations on Looking and Seeing is about so much - shared vision, losing ones mind, balance, love, falling, growing, awareness, friendship and so much more. We (all of us) spend most of our life rolling through life eyes wide open, doe-eyed, just looking around. It can be beautiful and heartbreaking to actually see.
