Everything I do is a self portrait but this is spot on. I am an art robot. I make things. I’ve always made things. Some people think being an “artist” is frivolous or glamorous or most of the "ous" words. It’s actually a job, like a real job. Work. The actual creative process is about 10% of it. The rest is accounting, contracts, marketing, supplies, equipment repair, insurance, proposals, talking to endless people with a happy voice and so many things. I am a big headed robot. Like most robots, as they age, they tend to malfunction. Most of my joints are angry with me, my eyes... oh my eyes and my voice/hard-drive function has lost its filter, making it hard to use the happy voice all of the time.
